In this scene

We see Latika is still in love with Jamal and that she is willing to risk herself for the fact that she might get to see Jamal and the fact she is still there for him.

3. How do we feel about Salim in this scene?
In this scene there is a realisation to the  audience that perhaps Salim isn't the person he is made out to be and in the end he is a good person and is being there for his brother. He also says for the evil he has done forgive him, meaning that he is truly sorry for what he has caused between Latika and Jamal and how he has separated them.

4. How does this scene accelerate the action in order to build towards the climax of the film?
It shows that everything is going to be okay, that Latika and Jamal will be together eventually and they wont lose each other again.

Chapter 23: The Answer Is B.

He says to Jamal that maybe its written and thinks that he's going to win.

2. How does this alter what you think of Kumar?
It makes the audience question what his emotions actually are.

He wants to be able to phone a friend and get through to Latika because he loves her.

4. How do you feel about Kumar at the end of this scene?
He is using reverse psychology to make him want to lose.

Chapter 24: Please Forgive Me
1. Why did Jamal go on ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’?
To contact Latika, it was her favourite programme so he wanted her to see it and then on a question he didn't know to phone a friend and talk to her.

2. What does Salim do in this scene that you didn’t expect?
He helps Latika escape to enable her to get out of the life she was living in and live the best possible life with Jamal.

3. How does this change how you feel about Salim?
As the audience we see Salim change as he is doing the correct thing and enabling his brother to continue living the best life he could have.

Chapter 25: We Love You, Jamal!
1. Why do think all of the crowds ‘love’ Jamal?
Jamal shows the  crowds that you don't to be rich or have a substantial amount of money to be educated on the things he got asked about. This shows a sense of equality between the rich and the people who live and have grown up in the slums.

2. How do you feel as Jamal and Latika battle to get to the studio?
A sense of achievement for Jamal, how he has battled all this time and has finally achieved what he wanted to achieve (seeing Latika). As a spectator I feel extremely happy for him as you have got to know the character throughout the film and now you feel how he is feeling.

3. How is cross-cutting used to emphasise this?
You see how eager she is to reach the studio, she wants to see Jamal and wants him to win and it shows that she still loves him.

Chapter 26: The Third Musketeer
1. Why does Jamal play, even though he doesn’t know the answer. Consider why he went on the show.
He wants to play so he can phone a friend and talk to Latika.

2. How do you feel when Latika answers the phone?
A sense of relief because the phone rings for such a long time and you see her rushing to get it. This shows us that she also is desperate to talk to her.

3. What does Salim do in this scene to emphasise how his character has changed throughout the film?
He sacrifices himself for his brother. He wants his brother to be with the one he loves and to have her foerever.

4. How do you feel about Salim’s death?
Sad as he has sacrificed himself meaning that Jamal has one of the things that he loved however he didn't get the other one, however as throughout the film Salim is an antagonist we don't feel immense emotion for him.

5.   How do you feel about Kumar as he encourages Jamal to celebrate?
Aggravated as originally he thought he was cheating and causing him to be beaten etc meaning this is all fake happiness.

Chapter 27: It Is Written
1. How does this scene contrast to the end of the last scene? Is it what you would expect?

2.   How do you feel as this scene builds up to the climax?

3.   Boyle includes a montage of flashbacks from throughout the film in this final scene. How does this add to the build up?
It allows the audience to recall all that Jamal has been through up until this point to manage to get Latika and this time hopefully not lose her.

4. What is the final resolution?
Jamal and Latika being together forever and nothing else coming between them.

Chapter 28: End Titles
1. How does the Bollywood dance sequence at the conclusion of the film make you feel?
It shows happiness and a happy ending for Jamal, this portrays that nothing else is going to go wrong.
